Terms of Service

1. The service

PenSignature provides free, browser-based tools for designing signature images, printable practice sheets and email signature markup. No account is required. The tools are provided at no cost and we may change, limit or discontinue any of them at any time.

2. Not an electronic signature service, and not legal advice

PenSignature produces images and markup. It does not provide legally binding electronic document signing. We do not verify anyone’s identity, create audit trails, apply tamper-evident seals, or store signed records. Whether a signature image is legally sufficient for a particular document depends on your jurisdiction, the document type and the circumstances of signing. Nothing on this site is legal advice. For anything consequential, use a dedicated e-signature provider and consult a qualified lawyer.

3. Ownership of what you create

You retain all rights in the names, drawings, contact details and images you enter, and in the signature images and email signature markup you generate. We claim no licence over them, and since nothing is uploaded, we never possess them in the first place. You may use what you create for personal or commercial purposes.

The handwriting typefaces used to render typed signatures are open-source fonts licensed by their respective authors. The resulting signature image is yours to use; the font files themselves remain subject to their original licences.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use PenSignature to:

• Forge, imitate or reproduce another person’s signature without their authorisation
• Commit fraud, identity theft or any other unlawful act
• Misrepresent your identity, credentials or authority on any document
• Scrape, spider, reverse engineer or automate access to the site at scale
• Redistribute the site’s code or content as your own product

Producing a signature that is not yours, with intent to deceive, is a crime in most jurisdictions. You are solely responsible for how you use what you create here.

5. Site content

The design, text and code of this site are owned by PenSignature and protected by copyright. You may not copy them wholesale, but you are free to link to any page.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the tools will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a generated signature will be accepted by any particular person, institution or legal system.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PenSignature and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the service — including any dispute over the validity, acceptance or misuse of a signature created here. Because the service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to zero.

8. Third-party links

Some pages link to external resources for reference. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or policies.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page, and continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.
